As part of the Australian Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER) program, the FKG Group was engaged to expand the Highfields State Primary School facilities through the construction of two new buildings, including a new multi-purpose hall and a library/resource centre.
The interior of the multi-purpose hall was fitted out with amenities including a kitchen/server area, classrooms, storage area and stage. The resource centre is comprised of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) rooms, offices, a library area and a kitchen.
During construction site access was limited, due to the compact size of the project area. The FKG Group set up regular site coordination meetings with the school to plan and deliver construction works to meet program requirements without interrupting regular day to day school activities.
