Completion of Multiple School Projects Showcases Education Capabilities

25th March 2016

As schools across Queensland started back for 2015, students from four schools were treated to brand new educational facilities constructed by the FKG Group.

Over $59 million worth of educational facility projects have been completed by the FKG Group since early-2014; meeting tight timeframes prior to the commencement of the 2015 school year.

The four educational facilities, which can accommodate more than 1,600 students at any one time include; the greenfield Highfields State High School Design and Construct Project, Cairns State High School Project, Pimpama Secondary College Design and Construct Project and the Kenmore State High School Project.

Scope of completed works for the FKG Group included; executive, student and other specialised services centres and classrooms, sports ovals, multi-purpose courts, canteens, food courts, covered recreational areas, hospitality services buildings and amenity blocks.

During construction of the facilities the FKG Group also provided design-to-construction solutions including; earthworks, site civil works, electronic security, evacuation, and fire appliances alarm installation, landscaping, services connection and the installation of services infrastructure for planned future developments.

A major challenge overcome by the FKG Group during the Cairns and Kenmore State High School Projects, was working within the confines of a live teaching environment which had very limited space.  Despite the vast, material-handling challenges which subsequently arose, quality project deliverables were delivered for the client.

The FKG Group was selected to undertake these projects based on their track record of completing Department of Education and Training projects on time and to budget, and their ability to provide innovative solutions to project challenges.
